Holiday Greetings
Holiday Greetings from the St. Margaret’s Bay Area Rails-to-Trails Association
The board of the St. Margaret’s Bay Area Rails-to-Trails would like thank you for your continued support of the trail that joins eight small communities into one large one. You’ve demonstrated that the trail is as important to you and your family as it is to us.
It’s been a busy year for the association. After some difficult storms, the trail was brought to quasi-perfection before, and then again after, Dorian. We have set up new signage that invites trail users to visit nearby cultural and commercial attractions. As well, a sheltered picnic kiosk was built, which overlooks Round Lake in Jerry Lawrence Park. A cup of steaming hot cocoa would go down well there this winter on your cross-country skiing adventure! In the spring, cyclists will enjoy the new lock-up site at Station Road in Hubbards that allows them care-free access to all that that town has to offer; the Farmer’s Market, the Trellis Café, Hubbards Cove Coffee and much more.
The association hopes to expand membership through our new brochures and an improved web presence stmargaretsbaytrails.com, where you’ll find our new interactive map. Make sure to like our Facebook page, @St. Margaret’s Bay Area Rails to Trails. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events, updates and don’t forget to share your favourite trail pictures.
Christmas in the Bay is coming up on November 30 … check out christmasinthebay.ca for more details. The St. Margaret’s Bay Area Rails to Trails Association will be there with activities for the kids to enjoy and goodies to hand out. Watch the Facebook page for more updates!
Many of the improvements and repairs on the trail are a direct result of our partnership with the Bay Treasure Chest. If you haven’t played yet, get your number! It’s one more way to support your community and the St. Margaret’s Bay Area Rails to Trails.
May you all have a healthy holiday and happy trails to you!
