Local state of emergency declared

Emergency responders are working around the clock to keep people safe and reduce the threats posed by the fires in the Tantallon and Hammonds Plains areas.

Please refrain for using the trail between Lewis Lake through Upper Tantallon to Head of St. Margaret’s Bay areas as conditions can change rapidly and unpredictably and could pose a serious health and safety risk to trail users.

The use of all off-highway vehicles is banned within the limits of Halifax Regional Municipality while the State of Local Emergency is in effect.

Residents are urged to follow the directives of emergency responders.
